Copper single ply now available from FDT

Article Image 1

Single ply roofing specialist FDT has launched a decorative and durable copper paint finish to its Rhepanol fk roofing range.
The copper paint is actually a coating of liquid PIB (polyisobutylene), which is the base material of Rhepanol fk itself. There are real copper flakes in the solution so that when the solvents dry out, real copper is left on the surface whilst the PIB is soaked in to the membrane.
Its initial bright copper appearance weathers to mellow bronze tones and eventually a green tint if left. A major benefit of the product is that it is anti-corrosive. This means there is no cracking or peeling and the life expectancy of the coating is the life expectancy of the product.
The coating is always applied after installation and requires two coats to provide the best finish. This means the Rhepanol membrane can be fixed with or without profiles.
