Bonding Gutters for joining roofs of different styles |
Take the stress out of joining dissimilar roof coverings with new gutter bonding products from Hambleside Danelaw.
Creating a successful weather-tight joint between different roof coverings has always been a bit of a headache. Whether you are joining slate to tile, or interlocking tiles to plain tiles, traditional methods are often expensive, time-consuming and cause considerable disturbance to the adjoining property. Other, less traditional methods, fall short of good practice with no guarantee of a successful outcome. Danelaw’s Bonding Gutter has a flat design profile to minimise disturbance and provide a good base and key for mortar bond between the roof coverings. Secondary weather protection is provided by twin water bars, which channel water down the rainwater guttering and give a high level of watertight security. What’s more, the system is less time-consuming and uses fewer materials than traditional methods, which works to saves you money.
Dry Fix Bonding Gutter (DBG1 and 2) adopts a different approach. The narrow profile and twin water bar design are retained but one of the main features is a raised central upstand. Weather-tightness is achieved by fitting the slates or tiles close up to the central upstand. Any water that passes between the edges of the slate or tiles and the central upstand is channelled away into the guttering at eaves level. This provides a clean, neat finish and is available in two profiles with different heights to suit the application. Minimum roof pitch = 17.5º.
Benefits:
- Doesn’t require mortar
- Provides a more secure way of joining different roof coverings
- Minimises the need for future maintenance
- Gives a neat, weathertight finish
- Quick and easy to install in all weathers
- More cost effective than traditional lead details
