Dektite Prefabricated Flashings

Article Image 1

Time is money. Which means the time taken up by putting together a neat flashing for a pipe or flue can seriously eat into your profits. A Dektite flashing could be the solution.
The Dektite range that was developed in Australia, has found plenty of eager users
in the US and is now available in Britain. It is a complete range of prefabricated flashings, designed for metal roofs, flat roofs and even slate and tile roofs.
They are easy to use – the flexible seals just trim to size, and the one-piece units slip over pipes and seal to the roof with a silicone adhesive, or an integral gasket.
They come in a range of sizes to suit all pipes - including square pipes and ducting
– and can be built-in during roof construction, or fitted to provide repairs.
They are easier to install than metal flashings, there is minimal scope for error, and no need for on-roof fabrication - all of which means reduced time in the danger zone on the roof.

Flues and pipes
Cold pipes running through roofs can be challenging enough – but hot flues can pose real difficulties. Dektite uses a remarkable synthetic material – EPDM - that is flexible, long lasting, and rated from -60°C to 150°C. It means you can safely install a Dektite flashing around most flues.

Repairs
Repairs where an existing flashing has failed are particularly difficult to deal with. Dektite has a range of Retrofit flashing for use when you can’t simply lower the flashing over the pipe. A patented zip lock system just clips round the pipe, ensuring a perfect seal in seconds.

Pitched roof solutions
Slate and tile roofs are covered by the Seldek range, which uses aluminium or Acrylead [lead with a protective acrylic coating] base and are lighter and easier to handle than conventional lead flashing.
